Education and Music Production Tutor based in York, UK

I am an experienced Educator, Youth Worker and Audiovisual Engineer, currently based in York. I have over 10 years of experience working with young people of all ages and adults in educational settings, as well as experience working as the lead Audiovisual Engineer for one of the country’s leading multimedia digitisation services.

 

My approach to education and tutoring is person-centred, meaning that I see every learner as unique and that my role is to provide the right level of support to enable them to achieve their own goals, whatever they may be. I believe that everyone has the potential to learn, making sessions relevant to the individual by tailoring to their interests.

 

I am able to offer support for all ages, including young people who are Elective Home Educated (EHE).

Qualifications

 

For education, I have qualified for both a PGCE in Primary Education and Early Years Teachers Status, as well as CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies. I am currently working part-time as a Youth Worker for a charity based in York, providing 1:1 educational support and tutoring for Functional Skills qualifications.

 

For music production, I have qualified for a BA(Hons) in Urban and Electronic Music and years of experience as an Audiovisual Engineer. This role included the archival and remastering of recordings from legacy media, as well as the maintenance of audiovisual equipment. I have over 20 years of experience using Ableton Live, however I now use Bitwig Studio exclusively.

 

Sessions and availability

 

Sessions last for 1 hour. I am available after 3pm Monday to Thursday and all day Friday. Sessions are available online to all, whilst in-person sessions are available to those living in the York area. Please be aware that I am unable to offer sessions to be held in my place of residence.
